NO STAGE RACE FOR 2012 …….
PLACE: RIM NORDIC SKI AREA, Hwy 18, 5 miles east of Running Springs, on the way to Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains across the street from Snow Valley Mountain Resort.
COURSES: Hill Climb, Dirt Crit, Super D & Cross Country Mtn. bike events. Maps to be posted prior to race dates. You must compete in all events on both days. These are not individual events.
- Hill Climb: 2 miles of rolling fire road with ups & downs for 1 mile, to intersection, then up 1 mile to finish, approx. 500′ elevation gain.
- Super D: 2 miles down (reverse of Hill Climb) – starting order will be the finish order of the Hill Climb, starting immediately after the last finisher of the Hill Climb.
- Dirt Crit: 1/2 mile loop in the base area. As many laps as possible within the assigned times per category (8-15 minutes), with lapped riders being pulled. Bell determines last lap.
- Cross Country Mtn Bike Race: (Sunday) Event will follow same classes & categories as the XC Series events for Rim Nordic, with course to be determined.
AWARDS: Each race will be scored using a POINT system based on finish placing of each event. One award will be given out on Sunday after the cross country event for all four (4) events combined points. Awards 3 deep in each category. (NO CASH AWARDS) Times subject to change on race day.
ENTRY FEE: $70 postmarked by July 25th, after that & race day $80 … Junior entry fee $50. (This entry automatically gets you signed up for the XC series race on Sunday) . See info below under time for further explanation.

- 7:00 am – 8:30 am Registration & Packet Pick-Up
- 9:00 am Hill Climb Start
- 10:00 am Super D Start (Stage Race participants only)
- 12:00 noon Dirt Crit Start
TIME: SUNDAY for the XC event (cross country)
- 9:00 am Cat. 3/ Tandems
– 10:00 am Cat. 2
– 11:00am Pro/Cat. 1 Women
– 11:30am Pro/Cat. 1 Men
LICENSE: This is a USA Cycling sanctioned mountain bike event. A USA Cycling racing license is required. All racers must present their license with picture I.D. at registration, even if pre-registered. Category 2 & 3 racers not wishing to purchase an annual license will need to pay a non-license fee of $5 per day to race. All racers must sign release forms available on site. Racers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the release forms. If neither are not available on race day, a form may be forwarded in advance by mail.
