First race of the season on July 1 will be FREE with a business card from your local bike shop for this “Beginner” race, then only $10 per race, unless we secure more sponsors to make this a FREE race for the entire season ! Helmets & signed releases are required. NO license required.

PLACE: Rim Nordic Ski Area, 5 miles east of Running Springs, on the way to Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains, across from Snow Valley Mtn. Resort.
This season is only a 3 race series, with all 3 races counting toward the overall awards. You MUST race the series final to qualify for the overall award. New & more sponsors this season !!!
COURSES: 7-9 mile lap with half single track, half fire roads with elevation gain minimum of 700′ per lap, depending on the “course of the day”. Courses will vary from race to race. Races held rain or shine.
- Pro/Cat 1 Men 3 laps Pro/Cat 1 Women 3 laps
- Cat 1 Men 50 + 2 laps Cat 1 Women 40+ 2 laps
- Cat 2 Men & Wm 2 laps
- Cat 3 Men & Women 1 lap
- Tandems up to 2 laps
TIME: SATURDAY
- 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Registration / Packet Pickup
Pre-ride (registered riders only) with times to be announced due to Downhill & Super D events on Saturdays.
TIME: SUNDAY – Cross Country
- 7:00- 11:00 am Registration / Packet Pickup
- 8:30 am BEGINNER race start
- 9:00 am Race Starts – Cat. 3 / Tandems
- 10:00am Race Starts – Cat. 2 / Tandems
- 11:00 am Race Starts – Pro / Cat. 1 Women
- 11:30 am Race Starts – Pro / Cat. 1 Men
AWARDS: Awards will be given out 3 deep in every category , 5 deep for 10 or more participants for each of the races. Overall awards will be given to the top 5 overall finishers in each category. “Overall” is determined by the total points earned throughout the season for all 3 races. Two race minimum requirement. You must race the XC Series Final on Aug. 19th to be eligible for the overall award.
Again, this season will be an overall award for the Team/Shop competition. Teams must be submitted before the first race. New point system & qualifications for overall Team/Shop awards. Email or send to Rim Nordic.
Award ceremonies follow each category finish. No need to remain all day for an award ceremony.
- PRO/CAT 1 MEN – in addition to individual category awards at each XC series race, all will compete against each other for the 5 fastest times of the day to earn $CASH$ prizes as follows: 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $60, 4th $50, 5th $40
- PRO/CAT 1 WOMEN – 1st $60, 2nd $50, 3rd $40 …..with a minimum of 6 racers
LICENSE: This is a USA Cycling sanctioned series. USA Cycling racing license is required. All racers must present their USA Cycling license with picture I.D. at registration, even if pre-registered. Category 2 & 3 racers not wishing to purchase an annual license will need to pay a non-license fee of $5 per race.
All racers must sign release forms. Racers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the release forms. If neither are not available on race day, a form may be forwarded in advance by mail.

KID’S RACE: FREE kid’s race at each of our xc series events for ages 10 & under. Includes t-shirt, custom medals & number plates for all participants with extra goodies provided by Rim Nordic. Sign up on race day. Helmets & releases required. Start time immediately after the Pro/Cat 1 Men (approx 12:00 noon or sooner).
V.I.P.
